Our Philosophy
What is organic wine?
Organic wine is produced from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers. It's made using organic farming practices that prioritise soil health and biodiversity. In the winemaking process, organic certification ensures minimal use of additives or sulphites.
What sets apart small batch wines?
Small batch wines are crafted in limited quantities, allowing for meticulous attention to detail at every stage of production. These wines often showcase unique characteristics, as the smaller scale allows winemakers to focus on quality rather than quantity.
What does it mean for a wine to be vegan?
Vegan wines are made without the use of animal-derived products during the winemaking process. This means no animal-based fining agents, such as gelatin or egg whites, are used for clarification. Instead, winemakers may opt for natural alternatives like bentonite clay or plant-based options.
What benefits do handworked vines bring to the quality of the wine?
Handworked vines receive personal care and attention, contributing to healthier grapevines and higher-quality fruit. This hands-on approach allows for precise management, promoting vine longevity and enhancing the flavours and nuances in the resulting wines.
Are organic wines different in taste compared to conventional wines?
Organic wines often reflect the unique terroir of the vineyard due to the focus on natural farming practices. While taste can vary widely based on grape varietals and winemaking techniques, many find that organic wines express more purity of fruit and a sense of place, showcasing the vineyard's characteristics.
